Easter Season!
Happy Easter! Peanut, IT Guy and I spent the day baking bread and making cupcakes, which is really not a bad way to spend Holy Saturday.
We made some cupcakes from the book "Hello Cupcake"
I think they turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself.

They really were not too difficult, and Peanut was excited to finally have real cake instead of my April fool's spaghetti cake with ricotta cheese frosting. I am an evil mom.

My new spice rack!
Ok, I think I am completely too excited about my new spice rack.

I finally got sick of buying multiples of the same spices and even still not being able to find what I needed. All the ready made spice racks didn't have enough jars or spots for my bagillion spices... so I made my own.
I bought a 12x24" piece of sheet metal from home depot, about 10$
punched holes in it where the hinge screws and door handle screws went, and one extra hole in the upper right corner. Then I (or more accurately, husband :) ) mounted it onto the cabinet door.
I got these little containers from the container store. It shows a spice rack at the top but the pack of 3 metal containers is 5.99 under the "we also recommend." I also found a 20% off coupon for an entire order and picked them up in the store. Total was about 50$ and I have some left to fill.
Or there are some plastic ones that are cheaper, but I splurged.
Dump your spices in the containers and you are good to go... unless you want to actually know whats in them :)
So I labeled them with some Avery "clear" (which are really more like frosted) address labels.
Ta DA instant organizational bliss. :)

Another Stroller?

Yup! You can have a chance to win a Britax Blink Umbrella Stroller over at 5 minutes for giveaways. Just click here!
We were just thinking of getting an umbrella stroller when packing for our last vacation I asked IT Guy, "Do you think we should bring Peanut's stroller"? We both glanced at the trunk of our overflowing Honda Accord.... hrmm guess it doesn't matter! Short of strapping it to our roof, it would not be going. So our trip to Amish county, where you walk everywhere, would be sans stroller! OOPS!
I also can't tell you how many times I've gone somewhere and forgotten I've removed the bulky stroller from the trunk to fit groceries, Target hauls or crafty goodies in it. Annoying! BUT, the Britax Blink Stroller folds up tiny so you can leave it in your trunk AND still fit all your errand running loot, or jam it into an already packed trunk! Awesome!

Heritage Blocks

Ok, so I saw this post and this post over on Heritage Unwrapped.
Aren't these basically the COOLEST things ever? They're cheaper than expensive table top frames, AND they're Peanut proof. How awesome is that?? He can sit there and stack Great Grandma and Grandpa... or have Uncle Bob slam into Uncle Fred... or the floor and who cares! Excellent!

Sometimes Mommies Know Best
Peanut stole an onion half from the fridge today. Whenever the fridge is open he always steals something. Today, despite my protests, he decided he must have the onion... fine. I pick my battles, eat the stupid thing....
This is about how it went:

"No mom, I NEED this onion, you may not have it back." ...
"I really don't think you want to eat that onion raw Peanut but ok, if you insist."

BLAGHadlkrfaK!?!!! WHAT IS THIS?

Why did you let me eat this retched thing?

Maybe you do know what you're talking about....
sometimes....
maybe not.

Intro to moi
So I thought I should at least tell you a little something about me, otherwise how boring of a blog would that be. Well maybe not that boring if your sole intent is to blog stalk a random person but anywho.
I'm a personal assitant (AKA SAHM) to my 16mo little boy "Peanut". Yes. One. No I don't know when we're going to start trying for the next one, I can hardly handle the one I've got thanks. ;) See?

Yes,that was lunch.
Before I entered the world of mommyhood I was a medical technologist. Eventually I'd like to go back to that but for now, I'm set at home.
I'm a wife to my husband, "The IT Guy." Peanut loves IT Guy and races for the door every time he hears the keys in the lock, and asks for "Da" when he wakes up. Does he say "Mom" or seem to care when I'm around? No. Does this make me a teeensy bit jealous, no no of course not. Sarcasm? Maybe.
Not the greatest of all pictures. But it gets the point across. Peanut loves his Da.
In my vast amount of free time I do photography, all things crafty, and attempt figure out how to make really awesome things I see in stores instead of buying them.. a trait of being verycheap *frugal.*
